How would you tell the story of 2024?

We invite photographers to submit works that reflect the theme "527040 Minutes” the number of minutes in 2024.
 
We ask you to look back on this past year, thinking about how you view the passage of time, its fleeting nature, and the profound impact of the moments that make up a year.
 
From the mundane to the extraordinary, every minute holds a story. Whether it’s the subtle changes of everyday life or the profound shifts in human experience, this theme invites you to capture the ways in which time shapes our world and ourselves.
 
Submission Guidelines:
Eligibility: Open to photographers of all levels, from emerging talents to seasoned professionals.
Format: Digital photographs (color or black and white) in high resolution.
Size: Minimum of 3000 pixels on the longest side.
Quantity: Up to 5 images per artist.
File Type: JPEG (ONLY) Submission Fee: $35 for up to 5 images
Submission Deadline: February 22, 2025
Jury Selections Made By: February 26, 2025
Work Delivered by: March 6, 2025. Accepted artists also have the option to have their work printed on our Canon ImageProGraf Pro-1100. For more details check out our FAQ here
How to Submit: Submissions will be made through ArtCall.org Please note, with each application you may submit up to 5 images. Do not forget to add titles for each image.

Exhibition Dates: March 8, 2025 – April 3, 2025
 
Selected works will be featured in our exhibition and may also be highlighted in our promotional materials and social media channels.

Additionally, there will be a gallery page on our website including all accepted images.

Juror: Robbie Pope Bailey
Robbie currently serves as the Head of the Visual Arts Department for the Raleigh Film & Art Festival. Her work has been published in The New York Times as well as being featured on The Today Show, The Discovery Channel, and NBC’s Nightly News. Her fine art photography has been exhibited widely and she has curated exhibitions in both Raleigh and New York City.

She is a graduate of North Carolina State University, followed by documentary studies at the International Center of Photography in Manhattan. Her commercial clients include The Maccallan Whiskey, Betsey Johnson, Hennessy, Ralph Lauren, and the New York Yankees.

“Family - Photography Exhibition

We invite photographers to submit their works for our upcoming exhibition, “Family” which will explore the diverse and complex nature of family dynamics. This exhibition aims to celebrate the connections, challenges, and narratives that shape our understanding of family.

Theme: What does “Family” mean to you? It can encompass biological relationships, chosen families, cultural heritage, and the emotional bonds that define our lives.

We encourage a VARIETY of interpretations.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Eligibility: Open to photographers of all levels, from emerging-to-seasoned professionals.

  • Format: Digital photographs (color or black & white) in high resolution.

About the Juror: Blue Mitchell

Founder and Publisher, Diffusion Annual & One Twelve and Podcast Host and Producer, The Diffusion Tapes

Blue Mitchell is an independent publisher, curator, educator, and photographer based in Portland, Oregon. He has been involved with many facets of photography in corporate and fine art environments. In 2005, after Mitchell received his BFA from Oregon College of Art & Craft, he founded One Twelve Publishing.

One Twelve Publishing is most notably known for its fine art photographic print annual Diffusion (East. 2009) which focuses on artfully crafted photo practices. One Twelve provides an extensive blog with articles, galleries, and special features. Mitchell also hosts and produces a podcast called The Diffusion Tapes where he chats with artists, curators, and writers in fine art photography.
